Hiring and fitting - capsule
Baby Capsules have a "basket" which may be lifted out with the baby.
They are suitable for infants who are under 9kg and less than 70cm in length.
There are other rear facing models of child restraint which are suitable for longer babies and have a weight capacity of 12kg.
Rear facing as long as possible is recommended as safer.
Many babies are over 10 months old before they have outgrown a rear-facing model, although age is not a suitable means of calculating a child's readiness to travel forward facing.
Some of these models are able to be utilised in an upright position when the child has outgrown the product's rear facing dimensions.
We stock models such as the "Compaq" which suits vehicles where space is limited.

Hiring and fitting - carseat
Carseats are suitable for children who have outgrown their rear-facing model and are less than 18kg and whose eyes are beneath the child seat back.
There are also carseat/booster models that will go up to 26kg (e.g. Maxi rider)
These products can be good for taller children.
Many children are over four years old when they have outgrown a carseat; they are usually better protected in a carseat until they are too big for the product's capacity.

Booster seats may be utilised for children who have outgrown a carseat but are less than 26kg and their eyes are still level or beneath the booster seat back.
A booster seat with sides and a five-point harness, such as using an H harness and anti-submarining clip is recommended as safer.
Many children are over 8 years old when they have outgrown this type of seat.
